PROJECT OBJECTIVES
 

1.  Deliver grant services to more than 50 percent of the consortium's eligible teachers.

 2.  Increase teachers' ability to understand and use the math and science GLEs, use research-based curricular materials that build student understanding of systems, inquiry and design, as described in the EALRS.

 3.  Increase teachers' ability to implement and integrate the math and science EALRS; develop and use WASL-like assessments to enhance learning and achievement in mathematics, science and technology.

 4.  Align staff development to Washington's math and science EALRs and GLEs.

 5.  Increase the knowledge and skills of teachers by pairing them with math, science and technology professionals from higher education, government and industry.

 6.  Increase student achievement in math and science to equal or exceed AYP in each year of the grant.  Progress will be measured by at least two sources of student performance.

 7.  Increase math, science and technology enrollment in grades 6-12 by 15 percent between 2003-2004 (the year before the project) and 2006-2007 (the final year of the project).

 8.  Increase female and minority enrollment in math, science, and technology courses by 20 percent between 2003-2004 and 2006-2007.

 9.  Establish a diverse, multi-party project advisory board.

 10.  Create a resource-sharing partnership that melds the strengths and needs of districts of all sizes and settings, including large, small, urban and rural; those with high need and those with large ethnic populations.
